In the current election of 2019, the term Nationalism is highly circulated in all sorts of media and other forums of public discourses. With the interest to get myself enlightened, I want to share my views with you. Eagerly looking forward to your response.  State is an instrument in the hands of a nation. One is a whole other is a part of it. State belongs to a nation, or a nation owns a state. It can be better understood by citing an example. Under the British rule, Indian state belonged to British rule, we lived in the British state and India was our nation. Any state takes care of its nation, British rule also served for England and not for India. That is why we demanded swaraj i.e. self-rule (our state). State is also defined in article 12 of the Indian Constitution; Union government, Union Parliament, State Legislatures and State governments, Local bodies and other authorities within the territory of India or under the control of Indian government....

There had been several election reforms since 1952 to make election transparent. A milestone was set by CEC(Chief of Election Commission) TN Sheshan. Before him, CEC was not known to common man. Still, a lot to be done to make election establish a healthy democratic system. A few of them can be following: 1. The Model Code of Conduct(MCC) which starts with the notification of election should be applied round the year 24×7. If Model Code of Conduct is not applied round the year and making it effective only with a notification of election the very purpose of MCC is defeated. If any candidate has been attending the cast and religious gathering more than 4 years after the previous election it becomes ridiculous to ask that person to behave caste-neutral or religion-neutral after notification. 2. 13 अप्रैल 1919 बैसाखी के दिन लगभग बीस हज़ार श्रद्धालुओं की भीड़ बाग में इकठ्ठा हुई। शांत, निहत्थी भीड़।  इस घटना के पूर्व ब्रिटिश सरकार  ने रौलट अधिनियम पास किया था जिसके तहत  किसी को भी बिना वकील, बिना दलील  जेल में डाला जा सकता था। यह उन भारतियों को ब्रिटिश सरकार  का 'पुरस्कार' था जो प्रथम विश्वयुद्ध में अंग्रेज़ों के कंधे-से-कन्धा मिला कर लड़े थे और मारे गए थे। सारा भारत स्तब्ध था।  पंजाब में सैन्य शासन  लगा दिया गया। पंजाब के लेफ्टिनेंट गवर्नर मइकेल  ओ' डॉयर की जगह ब्रिगेडियर जनरल (अस्थायी रैंक ) रेगीनाल्ड डायर को शासन का दायित्व सौंपा गया। जनरल डायर भारी सैन्यबल ले कर जलियांवाला बाग पहुंचा। बिना चेतावनी के निहत्थे  लोगों पर 1650 राउंड गोलियां चलवा दी। यह बाग़ एक छोटी सी जगह है। चरों ओर ऊँची-ऊँची दीवारों से घिरी।बीच में एक कुआँ। सिर्फ एक निकास। सरकारी हिसाब में 379 लोग मारे गए।  वास्तव में मरने वाले लोगों की संख्या 1000 के आस-पास थी और घायलों की संख्या 1600 से  अधिक।  पचासों लोग गोलियों से बचने के लिए कुएं में कूद गए। सभी...

प्राचीन भारतीय इतिहास-लेखन की कला से परिचित थे। किन्तु, इतिहास-लेखन के विज्ञान से उनका परिचय कम था। इतिहास-लेखन की परंपरा प्राचीन भारत में वेद व्यास के समय में प्रारम्भ हुई और 12 वीं शताब्दी के अंत तक चलती रही।  भारतीय इतिहास-लेखन की प्राचीनतम परंपरा ऋग्वेद  में संरक्षित है। द्वापरयुग में वेद व्यास द्वारा जब मौलिक भारत इतिहास  (भारत संहिता) और पुराण संहिता (इतिहास-संहिता) का संकलन किया गया तो भारतीय इतिहास-लेखन का प्रारम्भ हुआ। पुराणकार प्रथम भारतीय थे जिन्होंने राजवंशों की वंशावली और उनके कालक्रम का संकलन किया। इतिहास-लेखन परंपरा के 3 महत्वपूर्ण घटक आख्यान, इतिहास और पुराण है। इतिहास पुराण अपने वृहत्तर अर्थों में वास्तविक इतिहास परंपरा का बोध कराते हैं। इतिहास पुराण लेखकों ने इतिहास को उसके समग्र अर्थों में लिया है। यही कारण है कि इतिहास पुराणकारों ने तत्कालीन लोगों के सामाजिक, आर्थिक, राजनैतिक, धार्मिक और सांस्कृतिक जीवन का चित्रण व्यापक फलक पर किया है।  इसकी अपेक्षा युद्ध, लड़ाई, राजनैतिक कलह और भेद पर कम लिखा है। इतिहास-पुराण को छांदोग्य उपनिषद् में पा...
